Your wedding day is a once in a life time experience. With that, you deserve to be surrounded with your favorite people. However, coming up with your wedding guest list can be a difficult task as you sift through your many family, friends and associates. As a Bay Area wedding venue, we have seen the difference a guest list can make. And we want you to have the best experience possible, so here are out insider tips to form your perfect guest list.

Before deciding on who to invite from your extended family and your work associates, consider who you can’t do this day without. A great place to start is with your bridal party. Naturally, the people you want participating in your wedding ceremony will be those who are closest to you. However, if you are planning to forgo the traditions of a bridal party, you can jump to creating your “VIP” list.

Your VIP list will be those who you interact with and enjoy on a weekly basis. A lot of the time this includes parents, siblings, mutual friends to the bride and groom, best friends, and close extended family such as grandparents. These are the people you will want in the front row of your ceremony to witness every smile and happy tear. They truly are the best of the best. And you can’t have your wedding day with them there!

Once you have decided who is at the top of your list, write down every one else you can think of. Your extended family, old friends, co-workers, past roommates, etc. To help you form this list, go to your Facebook or phone contact to make sure you don’t miss a single person. By writing down everyone is your lives you will be able to better visualize who your potential guests are. Then comes the difficult task of thinning your list and deciding who will be on your wedding guest list.

While thinning you list start with the extremes. Who do you like the most on this list, and who do you like the least? Your favorites will be invited, and your those you enjoy the least will be crossed off the guest list. Then you will be left with everyone in the middle, this is where it becomes a bit more difficult. When deciding to invite a guest, consider how long it has been since you last spoke with them, are your conversations meaningful, are they a fun time or full of drama?

Before your know it, your Bay Area wedding venue guest list will be formed so that you can send out invitations! Remember to only invite those who adore you and will bring joy to your ceremony and reception. We can’t wait for you to fill our venue with everyone you love. Reach out to learn more.
